Dogs

It's very important for dogs to get enough exercise.  But it's very important not to exercise them in Mulligans Flat and Goorooyarroo nature reserves.

Why?

  • By law, dogs aren't allowed in the reserves, even on a leash.  Avoid being fined - leave pup at home!
  • Dogs sometimes make a snack of lizards, small mammals and birds, so to protect the fragile ecosystems in the nature reserves, dogs should be kept out.
  • Fox baits have been laid in the nature reserves.  If your dog eats fox bait, it can die a horrible death.  Don't risk it

If you live near the nature reserves and need somewhere to exercise your dog, check out the new enclosed dog park at Forde.  For more information on where dogs can be exercised in the ACT, see the Where can I take my dog? page on the TAMS website.
